VFC SCAR-L
The VFC SCAR-L is by far the best scar on the market. I have owned the Echo1 and used the G&G and none can compare to this rifle. The build quality is amazing and when you hold it in your hands your not sure if it’s the airsoft version of the real steel. The gun is True 1:1 down to the details of the screws and take down features. From the back to the front:
The stock houses the battery instead of inside the cheek rest on the other models giving it more balance. It is adjustable to 6 different positions for the perfect hold unlike the 3 on most of the other models. The cheek rest is adjustable to 3 positions unlike the other models that only have 2. The folding of the stock is more solid and when you click it into place it doesn’t fall out like most of the other models. The best part is that there are no wires to expose when the stock is collapsed. They use contact points in the stock. The lower receiver is a polymer that is similar to what Glock uses for their pistols and the upper is machined aluminum for light weight and a smooth action. The weapon includes an ambidextrous fire selector switch and mag release and the charging handle can be moved to either side as well. This gun comes with a functioning charging handle and bolt catch/release that houses the hop-up and has a very crisp sound when released. The rear sight is a basic SCAR sight and is adjustable for wind age and elevation and the built in front sight flips up and down and is adjustable for height. There is a tool also built into the front sight that is removable and has two options. The first allows you to fine tune the hop-up and the second is to take down every piece of this weapon. The outer barrels are replaceable with the longer versions if you like. After removing the orange flash hider you can replace it with the steel one given to you by VFC or anyone of your choosing than uses -14mm thread. The SCAR has a solid top rail for easy placement of optics and two side and lower rails for accessories. Out of the box on King Arms premium .20g bbs, the SCAR-L fires at about 395fps on .20g bbs. This weapon is tested by VFC using a 12v car battery so it is definitely LiPo ready and comes in at a price of $380.00 from Evike.com.
Pros:
Real steel weight, LiPo Ready, good field and CQB range, build quality, water resistant
Cons:
Thin wires, hop up is very delicate
Overall:
I would rate this rifle 9/10 because of the wires this gun uses. With all of the work VFC put into this rifle, they really skimped out on the wire choice.

Echo 1 SCAR-L ASC
The Echo 1 SCAR-L ASC is a great looking weapon out of the box. You get the folding stock that is fully adjustable. The stock extends out 3 positions and the cheek raiser is 2 position adjustable. The factory folding front iron sight is very good quality and you also get the barrel extension change it from a CQB to a field gun. It unfortunately does not come with a metal flash hider so you are stuck with the orange tip that comes with it. The weapon if almost fully ambidextrous with the fire select and mag release be ambi as the charging handle being moveable to either side making it somewhat ambi. In the box you get the gun, warranty information, instruction manual, jamming rod, two magazines(450rd and 120rd), fore grip, rear adjustable sight, 8.4v battery and basic wall charger. The battery compartment is very small and located inside the cheek raiser. You don’t have many options other than mini type batteries or a LiPo. *I found that an 11.1v LiPo battery fits just fine and increases the overall performance of the gun. With the factory 8.4v battery, the ROF is something to laugh at hitting a huge (sarcasm noted), 12.7 RPS and the trigger response is horrific. With the addition of the 11.1 I can now fire upwards of 17.3 RPS and the trigger response is drastically better. The accuracy of the Scar is not all that impressive as I found out. The factory inner barrel is a depressing 6.08mm barrel. The groupings that this barrel produces with the factory hop up and bucking is quite horrendous. I got 7/10 shots on a human chest sized target from 65 ft. away and the grouping was something of around 11in. Now all of that being said, by replacing the bucking and barrel to a tighter barrel I was able to get groupings of about 6in. from over 100ft away. The weapon takes very well to upgrades. The price tag for this gun came in at $235.00 from ASGI.
Pros:
Ambidextrous fire select and mag release, moveable charging handle, folding adjustable stock, built in folding front sight
Cons:
Lacking in ROF, accuracy, no metal flash hider
Overall:
Since the factory gun is lacking in ROF and accuracy I want to rate it a 6/10 but with the ambidextrous ability and folding stock and how well it takes to slight upgrades, I have to give it a 8/10
*Note: to use a 11.1v LiPo please re-shim, correct AOE, and re grease your gun. Failure to do so may cause weapon failure.
