UTG MK96
The L96 style sniper rifle is one of the most common. This gives it an edge in the world of snipers. From the factory this rifle is very accurate and very strong. Shooting around 435 fps on .20 and about 390 fps on .25 this rifle has enough power to hit over 150 ft. away. It comes with a bipod for stabilization and with the addition of a scope this rifle is deadly. The magazine is located in front of the trigger guard and is spring loaded. The bolt action isn’t the smoothest but it does show the kind of power that is put into every shot. The L96 models have a problem with their bolts where if you lower the bolt before it is seated back in its locked spot a pin will fall out leaving your rifle useless. The bolt also gets loose over time and tends to wiggle back and forth scratching your stock. It has no effect on performance, just the look of your stock. The end cap on the outer barrel is removable revealing a threaded outer barrel allowing for the addition of an adapter and suppressor or barrel extension. The butt pad is adjustable by adding and removing the rubber pads for the correct fit and the cheek rest is adjustable for height. The upgrade parts available for this rifle are in the masses. Everything on this rifle is upgradeable from the stock itself, to the trigger mechanism, to the bolt itself. At a price tag of $130.00, this rifle is a great starting point for any sniper and can be used by the advanced with a few upgrades.
Pros:
accuracy, bipod, adjustability
Cons:
bolt issues, plastic stock
Overall:
Overall as a beginner sniper rifle I would rate this 7/10 only because of the major problems with the bolt. One upgraded this rifle easily becomes an 8 or 9.

VFC SCAR-H SSR
The VFC SCAR-H SSR is the SCAR marksman rifle. The build quality is amazing and when you hold it in your hands your not sure if it’s the airsoft version of the real steel. The gun is true 1:1 down to the details of the screws and take down features. From the back to the front:
The stock houses the battery instead of inside the cheek rest on the other models giving it more balance and more room. It is adjustable to 6 different positions for the perfect hold unlike the 3 on most of the other models. The cheek rest is adjustable to 3 positions unlike the other models that only have 2. The folding of the stock is more solid and when you click it into place it doesn’t fall out like most of the other models. The best part is that there are no wires to expose when the stock is collapsed. They use contact points in the stock. The lower receiver is a polymer that is similar to what Glock uses for their pistols and the upper is machined aluminum for light weight and a smooth action. The weapon includes an ambidextrous fire selector switch and mag release and the charging handle can be moved to either side as well. This gun comes with a functioning charging handle and bolt catch/release that houses the hop-up and has a very crisp sound when released. The rear sight is a basic SCAR sight and is adjustable for wind age and elevation and the built in front sight flips up and down and is adjustable for height. There is a tool also built into the "gas tube" that is removable and has two options. The first allows you to fine tune the hop-up and the second is to take down every piece of this weapon. After removing the orange flash hider you can replace it with the steel one given to you by VFC or anyone of your choosing than uses -14mm thread. The SCAR has an extended long and solid top rail for easy placement of optics and two side and a long lower rails for accessories. Out of the box with Hailstorm BIO .25g bbs, the SCAR-H SSR fires at 377fps consistently and has the ability to range out past 150ft easily. This weapon is tested by VFC using a 12v car battery so it is definitely LiPo ready and comes in at a price of $440.00 from Evike.com.
Pros:
Real steel weight, LiPo Ready, good field as a long range support rifle, build quality, water resistant
Cons:
Thin wires, hop up is very delicate
Overall:
I would rate this rifle 9/10 because of the wires this gun uses. With all of the work VFC put into this rifle, they really skimped out on the wire choice.

Snow Wolf Barrett M82
While this rifle is not 100 percent true to scale it is very close. It weighs in at just over 13 pounds and is made of all metal except for the muzzle break. It has a version two gear box in it that makes it very easy to work on and upgrade as it uses standard M4 parts. The inner barrel is massive at 650mm from the factory. It comes with a built in folding bipod that leaves a little to be desired. The bright orange muzzle break/flash hider is very noticeable but nothing a coat of spray paint wont take care of. It is missing the adjustable rear monopod that comes standard on the real Barrett. Mainly this is because the shoulder pad/rear stock on the Snow Wolf is one of the non true to scale parts on the rifle. The pistol grip is a standard M4 grip and can be switched out if you so choose to. The magazine is a high cap mag 300 rounds and is wound from the bottom. The mag you could, if you so chose to, swap the internal hicap workings for standard M4 mid cap internals to cut down the round count for MilSim. The Hop up is accessible by charging the bolt so changes can be made while shooting. There is plenty and I mean plenty of rail space on this gun. The biggest drawback is that they didnt disable the full auto feature of the V2 gearbox so you need to disable it to be able to use it on the field. It chronos at about 390-420 fps shooting .20 bbs and has a price tag of only $299
Pros:
Wow factor, price, accuracy, range, standard V2 parts
Cons:
hicap mag, no rear monopod, full auto
Overall:
People will look at you weird if you carry this thing onto any playing field. I installed a 6x24x50 mil dot scope on mine. Might be overkill but its a Barrett. The accuracy out of the box is great and hits over 150ft. with extreme accuracy. The overall feel of the gun is just intimidating it does however have a few drawbacks, being the weight and full auto. It can get VERY heavy to carry around all day while playing. It is a great piece of hardware to add to any RECON team and with a few upgrades this gun can be completely devastating. This rifle deserves a 9/10 only for the fact that the full auto was not disabled and the mag is a hicap.
